Welcome to Home Learning in Year 4.

Your child will bring home a yellow home learning book. Each term a topic grid will be placed in this and shared here. There are a range of activities we suggest you can do together. Remember, as with all learning, these are not one size fits all and if you need to amend them to fit your family, then please do.

If four activities from the grid are completed and returned to school in the last week of the term then children will receive a certificate and be entered into the Merit Book. 

Maths and spelling home learning will be uploaded to this page weekly. This does not need to be stuck into the yellow book. 

We encourage you to read daily where possible, but as regularly as you can with your child. This can be their school reading book, or a book or magazine etc of interest to them. If children are excited and interested, they will become natural readers! Please communicate reading with us in the reading records and ensure this comes to school daily.

We know that evenings and weekends are important family time, so we do not set tasks designed to take a long time. We also know that getting pupils to work outside of school can be tricky! We encourage you to do what you can, but most importantly to be kind to yourselves. We are all here to support you if you need anything.
