We follow the 'Understanding Christianity' curriculum throughout the school. This encourages children to develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. We encourage children to question and to develop their own beliefs and values.  

As part of our curriculum, all classes use 'The Big Frieze' (created by artist Emma Yarlett) to help them understand the 'timeline' of the bible. 

The artwork illustrates seven of the eight core concepts explored through the Understanding Christianity resource and provides a visual journey through the ‘big story’ of the Bible.

The frieze helps children develop a deeper understanding of Christianity by connecting important themes and events in a meaningful and engaging way. Through Emma Yarlett’s creative interpretation, pupils can explore how these concepts are woven throughout the Bible and consider their significance within the Christian faith.

The R.E. that we teach plays an important part of our broad and balanced curriculum.  It is taught through a variety of different techniques including art, drama, discussion, reflection, questioning and Godly Play.  Through this, children learn about, and from religion.
