Welcome to our new Year 3 and 4 pupils and your families!

We hope you have had a great summer and are all ready for an exciting first few weeks!

The topic title for our first term is Incredible Iron, and in English, we will be focusing on The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. This is certain to inspire lots of descriptive writing and creativity when we attempt to write our own stories!

PE will be on Wednesdays for Dolphins, Sharks and Stingrays, so please send the children into school wearing their kit on that day.

Early on in the term we will also be completing our first Star Reading tests of the year to find out our book levels.

If your child finishes a book, they can complete a book quiz using their login through the Accelerated Reader link below. 

 

Term 1 learning:

History lessons will allow us to discover how much Folkestone has changed over time, as we delve into some primary and secondary sources. In Science, we will be identifying different forces and complete investigations using magnets. We will be using clay to create sculptures inspired by Antony Gormley in Art. Greetings and counting to 10 will be the focus in French, and teamwork will be of great importance in PE when the children compete in various ball games. More detail can be seen on the topic grid at the bottom of this page.
