In History, we will be finding out all about castles and Medieval life. We will be thinking about what it was like to live in castles, who lived in them, the names of different features, why they were built and how they were defended.

The children (and adults) all had an amazing time at Dover Castle, despite the unfortunate weather, and we found out lots of interesting facts while we were there. I am sure they have shared lots with you already!
In Science, we will be learning about the different seasonal changes that happen throughout the year. We will be doing fieldwork to explore our local surroundings and also learning how to identify and name trees and plants by investigating their leaves.
In English, we will be writing letters, explanation texts, character descriptions and creating our own dragon-based adventures. The final weeks of the term will see us focus on sun and water safety in preparation for the long summer holidays.

We will, of course, continue with our daily maths and phonics sessions and weekly lessons of music, R.E., P.S.H.E and computing. Our Art lessons will see us combine different skills to create a wonderful heraldic shield.
Our P.E. lessons will continue on Fridays.
Your child should come to school in their P.E. kit and trainers on these days. This term our focus is athletics. As much of our P.E. will be outside this term, please ensure your child has a hat for sunny days.
