Our first week back was a chilly one! Perfect for some Winter-inspired writing and artwork!

Welcome back Fireflies!

Happy New Year!

This term our theme is...

In Geography, we will be using atlases, globes and maps to help us identify the continents and oceans of the world. We will also explore and compare the cities of London and Tokyo.

 

Wheels and axles is our focus in Design Technology. Our project this term will be to design and make a London bus.

 

We will continue our journey around the world within our English lessons by sharing traditional stories from Australia, Africa, North America, Japan and Europe.

 

Our science lessons this term will be based on...

 We will continue to explore the properties of different materials and identify the best materials to use when designing a coat to help you stay visible in the dark, choosing curtains for a bedroom or making teabags!

Jigsaw Jo will help us with this term's P.S.H.E. lessons...

 

Daily maths and phonic lessons, alongside music, computing, R.E. and P.E. complete our curriculum.

 

A few reminders:

P.E. this term is on a Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school in their P.E. kit on this day and that earrings are removed or taped. 

Please hear your child read regularly at home. Don't forget you can access a wide variety of additional books and games allocated to their bug club account.

Well done to all those Fireflies who have already succeeded in completing 5 bookmarks. We hope you are enjoying your book reward! Keep it up everyone!

The new home learning challenges will be sent home this Friday. You have the whole term to complete as many challenges as you wish. Those Fireflies who complete at least four challenges will earn themselves a certificate at the end of the term.
