Young Carers

Could your child be a young carer?

Does your child have a sibling with an ASD diagnosis?

Does your child care for any family member who is physically or mentally ill, frail, elderly, disabled or misuses alcohol, or substances?

Having some time to themselves with other children in similar positions is important.

Young carers aged 11+ will also receive a free yearly bus pass to help them get to and from school and to use in their free time.

Please contact Mrs Allon if you think your child could be a young carer.

Alternatively, you can refer your child yourself by using the following link -

Our Outings and Activities 2024 -2025

Thank you, Laurel Court!

We have been working closely with the residents at Laurel Court who have been providing our school with donations, such as food for our food bank and new coats and shoes for our children.

Our group of young carers made thank you Christmas cards for the residents. They put so much effort into their cards, and we are looking forward to delivering them.

Strike!

The young carers had a great trip to the Hollywood Bowl in Ashford recently.  The children enjoyed the ten-pin bowling and for those who were playing for the first time, they all did amazingly well.  Thank you to the Rotary club for the funding donated to our Young Carers, which enables us to give them these experiences.

Year 6 Transition

Our young carers in Year 6 had a great day at the Three Hills where they got to meet other young carers that will be going to their secondary school, as well as staff and some Year 7 students.

The day was full of exciting activities such as wheelchair basketball, cricket, dodgeball, boxing and smoothie bikes!

It was a great chance to meet new people, try new things and a start to prepare for the secondary school transition.

Fort Burgoyne

The young carers had a lovely morning at Fort Burgoyne in Dover, where we took part in team games and ended the day with a scavenger hunt around the beautiful fort.

Thank you to the staff at Fort Burgoyne for looking after us, showing us their wonderful fort and for the fun games they arranged.

Thank you to Folkestone Rotary Club!

Our local Rotary Club is a great supporter of our school. We would like to say a big thank you for their recent donation of £200 to help update our new morning well-being room and another amazing £400 towards trips for our young carers. We are extremely grateful!
