All Souls' Church of England Primary School Food Bank

WORKING TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY

With us all feeling the strain of our finances, and the cost of food rising, we are setting up our food bank, so that we can support each other in our community and hopefully lessen that struggle.

We would love any donations you may be able to provide, either as a one-off, or on a regular basis.  We are looking for in date packaged, or tinned food such as:

Cereal, soup, pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes/pasta sauce, lentils, beans and pulses, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, tinned fruit, biscuits, UHT milk, fruit juice.

Please just come to the office and ask for Mrs Allon. All items are free. 

Thank you to all the amazing staff, and residents at Laurel Court assisted living accommodation in Stanley Road, who provide us with all of our food for our food bank and keep it topped up regularly, so that our families never have to go without.  Laurel Court have provided our children with some wonderful treats - every child was bought an advent calendar at Christmas, and they have also provided some of our children with shoes, coats and other uniform.

 

Hythe Food Bank 

Shopping bills are constantly rising, making it difficult to buy the amount of food we need to feed our family. As you are aware, we have our emergency food bank in school where we are able to give families a small amount of food. I wanted to let you know of a great place where you can obtain larger amounts of food at times of need.

The Hythe Pantry is there to help, you just need to sign up as a member first, which is free to join.  Go to the ‘Your Local Pantry’ site and select pantry name ‘Hythe Pantry’, you can then sign up.

Once you are a member, you can arrive at the store in Hythe at :-

The church is behind The Bell pub in Hythe, and is on an easy bus route on the main road.

It is open Mondays 9.15am-4pm and Tuesdays 9.15am-1.30pm.

You pay £5 (this can be paid online, or in cash on the day) and can then shop for £25 worth of shopping. On top of that, you can have unlimited amounts of veg, fruit and bread. There are also rails of clothes at The Pantry where you can take clothing you need free of charge.

We are so lucky to have this service in our local area. I know it will be a real help to many people when it comes to doing their weekly shopping and keeping the costs down.

Our food bank in school is always there for emergencies, but I would encourage you to visit The Hythe Pantry for larger food shops.
