Year 2
This term we will be finishing our money topic, continuing with multiplication and division and introducing length and height.
Key Skills you will need this term;
Know the value of different coins and notes.
Use different strategies to add and subtract amounts.
Know £1 is equal to 100p and be able to make £1 in different ways.
Confidently count forwards and backwards in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Group and share items equally.
Record repeated addition as multiplication and repeated subtraction as division.
Recall multiplication facts and related division facts forte 2x, 5x and 10x tables.
Use cm and m to measure length and height
Compare and order height and length of objects.
Week 2
Maths; This week we have begun looking at multiplication. We have been recognising and making equal groups, recording repeated additions and writing these as multiplication equations. Have a go at the activity below, which includes some word problems linked to our History topic of the Great Fire of London.
Spelling; This week we have been practising /j/ spelt 'g' and /s/ spelt 'ce', 'ci' and 'cy'. There are 2 activity sheets below to help practise your spellings for this week.
