Baking Club

This year, we have been supporting our local community by joining forces with pupils and staff from Earlscliffe School in Folkestone.

By creating these links, each group of pupils have been baking a weekly sweet treat which has been taken home by pupils but also shared with members of our local homeless community via the work of the Sunflower house charity.

Pupils have enjoyed learning new kitchen skills and helping those less fortunate than themselves.

Information taken from the Sunflower House:

"Action on Homelessness is such an amazing charity, especially in these times when so many people need a little helping hand.
Do you know they often feed around 80 people a hot meal on the days they are here at Sunflower House? What an incredible achievement!
If you would like to offer a helping hand, drop off some items of food or are able to make a donation, then they'd love to hear from you!
They are at Sunflower House Tuesdays and Thursdays. Drop by and meet the team!
This amazing charity provides hot meals and general support services including clothing, bedding, and accommodation equipment together with assistance with obtaining medical help, contact with other agencies and other counselling services for homeless folk in Folkestone and the surrounding area."
